On the origin of species by means of natural selection

Darwin revolutionized humanity’s understanding of nature and our place in the natural world with this monumental work that is one of the greatest in the life sciences. Drawn from his five years of sailing on the Beagle expedition and observing a variety of species, Darwin elaborated a proposal that species evolve from common ancestors by means of natural selection. Condition and treatment: This is a mid-19^th century cloth covered publisher's binding in fair condition. The cloth endcaps are damaged with areas of cloth loss and the textblock is heavily foxed due to water damage. Conservation staff with strengthen the endcaps and surface clean the cover and textblock as needed. Water damage to the cover may be visually compensated. The binding will be housed in a cloth covered clamshell with an integrated cradle.
