LIBRARIES
A Midsummer Night's Dream
William Shakespeare , 1911
Part of the excellent collection of William Shakespeare titles in the Libraries, one of the Bard’s most popular plays is illustrated by Arthur Rackham. The book was published simultaneously in London for the English trade, and represents some of Rackham’s most renowned work. Arthur Rackham was one of the major figures of the “Golden Age of Illustration,†bringing his sumptuous book illustrations to fairy tales, legends and myths, and children’s stories. This title is the only Shakespeare work with his artwork, and if fools we mortals be, then we are happy fools to share this beautiful volume.
