My name is Laryssa René. I am currently studying Journalism – Magazine here at the University of Cincinnati. However, I am originally from Fallon, Nevada. Aside from an interest in fashion I took this course to evolve my knowledge in the history aspect of fashion. Thus far I’ve learned a lot, from who Bonnie Cashin even is, to her works, and how she came about to creating such inspiring pieces. My favorite discovery of her has to be the poncho. Such a simplistic design one never would of thought of it. Other than Bonnie, I’ve gained an entire new insight about the fashion industry as a whole through Dianna Vreeland. Considering how fashion is portrayed today it’s cool to see how and why we wear and make the type of garments we do today. As I grow in fashion and in writing it will be interesting to witness where fashion is heading for the future.
