My name is Nina Kousha and I am a student at the University of Cincinnati. I grew up in West Chester, Ohio, about twenty miles out from the school. I began my college career in 2011 and have finally found my major as a student studying Fashion Design at the university’s school of Design, Art, Architecture, and Planning. This is my second year in the program.
I chose to take this course to fill in credits to be full time and because it was recommended by other teachers for a fun and hands on experience unlike any other courses that the college offers. I have learned a lot about conserving historical garments to ensure the quality lasts as long as possible. We got to see in-person examples of how improper care and storage of garments can lead to their destruction. The course has been great for learning to create an exhibit and throw an event for it, photograph garments with detailed shots, and preserve garments.
