My name is Dylan James Diemer and I am currently a second year marketing major at the University of Cincinnati. People usually call me Dylan, but on rare occasions, I’ve been known to go by Dyl, Double D, Diemer, and yes, even Dyldo. I came to UC from lovely Cleveland, Ohio not knowing what I wanted to do with my life, so naturally I declared business. Although the world of business is extremely interesting, there was something missing in my academic life. Since I have an interest in fashion, I thought why not take a class that is completely focused on the world of fashion!

Bonnie Cashin is such an icon, so being able to pay homage to her work is actually an honor. I loved learning how to sew and make a skirt, and also learning about other influential people in the industry, such as Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, and Richard Avedon. Another aspect of the class that I absolutely loved was the opportunity to use my idea for the self-portrait photography shoot. Overall, I really enjoyed this class and would highly recommend to anyone with an interest in learning more about the history of fashion icons.
