My name is Hope Rice and I am a sophomore studying Art History at the University of Cincinnati. I am from a small town in Arkansas, but I love Cincinnati and am having the best experiences here. I love to run, write, study art, and read Vogue. I have always loved fashion and would like to incorporate it in my career.
I am so excited to be a part of Bonnie’s class. I had never heard of her designs before taking this course, but Jennifer’s inviting email and beautiful class logo convinced me to drop a required art history class and sign up anyway. Half way through the semester, I have already experienced a new world of fashion and history through the unique opportunities this class has provided. I have loved our private classes with curators from the Cincinnati Art Museum and the exclusive lessons on how to properly light a garment in the DAAP photo studio. We have learned how to handle textiles, methods of preservation, and even made our own archival hangers. We are working hard to document and preserve our fabulous Cashin collection, and I cannot wait to see how our exhibition comes together.
