My name is Greg Trybula. I am a junior fashion design major and Spanish minor in the College of Design, Architecture, Art, & Planning. Currently 23 years old, I’m from South Bend, Indiana and have been studying art & design since I could pick up a pencil. Having co-oped at Lands’ End and American Eagle, I will be co-oping at Zac Posen this spring before finishing up my final year in design school.
Before this course, I had never heard of Bonnie Cashin or her contributions to American fashion. By studying her and analyzing her work, I have found what an ingenious designer this woman was and how revolutionary her designs and ideas were. Her combinations of textiles and silhouettes were elegant and modern, complimenting a woman in every way she wanted. Seeing a designer create such functional and fashionable garments has inspired me to constantly think about the use of my fashion and how people can appreciate it for it’s form and function long after I am gone.
