Create an Edible Book for the International Edible Books Festival, Tuesday, April 1, at 1:00pm in the 5th floor lobby of Langsam Library

For the 12th year, the University of Cincinnati Libraries will celebrate the International Edible Books Festival with an event scheduled for Tuesday, April 1, 2014, from 1:00-2:00pm in the 5th floor lobby of Langsam Library. The Libraries are seeking people interested in creating an edible book for the viewing and consuming enjoyment of those in attendance at the event.

catcher2There are few restrictions for those interested in creating an edible book – namely that the creation be edible and have something to do with a book. Past entries have included such edible titles as Catcher in the Rye, Green Eggs and Ham, A Raisin in the Sun, The Swiss (cheese) Family Robinson, and If You Give a Cat a Cupcake among other literary greats.

As in previous years, entries will be judged according to such categories as “Most Edible,” “Most Hilarious,” “Most Creative,” “Most Checked Out,” and “Most Literary.” Special prizes will be awarded for the “Best Student” and “Best Overall” entry.

Those interested in creating an edible book should e-mail melissa.norris@uc.edu by Tuesday, March 25, with the name of their entry.
