A Poem in Your Pocket All Month Long

pocketpiece-01April is National Poetry Month. In celebration of this, UC Libraries has mounted an exhibit on the fourth floor of Langsam Library celebrating poetry and poets.

Included in the exhibit is information about the Elliston Poetry Room, some Ohio poets, poets with a Cincinnati connection, and a sampling of UC poets including Armando Romero, Danielle Deulen, Don Bogen, James Cummins, John Drury and Nicasio Urbina.

Also in the exhibit are poetry books from the collections of UC Libraries as well as UC’s own Cincinnati Review, which includes poetry among other writing. A full bibliography of the works included in the display is available at the exhibit as well as online as a PDF.

More about the exhibit can be found on the Elliston Poetry website.

The exhibit was created by James Cummins, curator of the Elliston Poetry collection; Melissa Cox Norris, director of library communications; and Anna Freeman, library co-op design student and sophomore in DAAP.
