Fine Art in the University of Cincinnati Libraries

The University of Cincinnati Fine Arts Collection is one of the most significant collections of Cincinnati art. It has been amassed through purchases, loans, and donations since the University’s founding in 1819. There are over 4500 items, which include works by such famous Cincinnati artists as Dixie Selden, John Ellsworth Weis, John Rettig, Louis Charles Vogt, and Reginald Grooms. There are wonderful Cincinnati photographs by Paul Briol, a Hiram Powers sculpture, and a large number of Pre-Columbian terracotta pieces. Portions of the collection have been digitized and cataloged and are available for viewing here: http://artcollection.uc.edu/gallery.php
