It includes over 100 composers and covers musical style, performance practice, aesthetics, and institutions. The book is edited by CCM musicology professor Mary Sue Morrow and is scheduled to be issued in May 2012. (See <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iupress.indiana.edu\/product_info.php?products_id=653638\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.iupress.indiana.edu\/product_info.php?products_id=653638<\/a> )<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The April 4 concert will recreate the opening half of a typical late Viennese 18<sup>th<\/sup>-century concert and will feature performances of a little-known Boccherini symphony, a symphony by the Viennese court composer Wenzel Birck, and two numbers from Florian Gassmann\u2019s \u201cL\u2019opera seria,\u201d an opera buffa spoof of Italian serious opera.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The orchestra will be drawn from members of the CCM Philharmonia Orchestra, led by professor Mark Gibson. The vocal soloists are Fotina Naumenko and Allan Palacios Chan, both CCM graduate students.
