Myers Alumni Center<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>Life of the Mind&#8221; <\/em>features interdisciplinary conversations with UC faculty around a one-word theme. Each quarter, there are two &#8220;<em>Life of the Mind&#8221;<\/em> sessions with three &#8220;thought provocateurs&#8221; contributing to each session. Each scholar provides a 15-minute talk followed by audience Q&amp;A.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>At the May 8 event, three distinguished faculty members will address the theme from unique and diverse perspectives:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Elaine Hollensbe<\/strong>, Associate Professor of Management, Carl H. Lindner College of Business, &#8220;Where is the &#8216;Me&#8217; Among the &#8216;We&#8217;?&#8221;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Amy C. Lind<\/strong>, Mary Ellen Heintz Endowed Chair and Associate Professor of Women&#8217;s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, McMicken College of Arts and Sciences, &#8220;Identity and Embodiment&#8221;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Jeffrey M. Timberlake<\/strong>, Associate Professor of Sociology, McMicken College of Arts and Sciences, &#8220;The Kiln and Crucible of Ethnic Identity&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The previous &#8220;thought provocateurs&#8221; on the subject of &#8220;Identity&#8221; were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Stefan Fiol<\/strong>, Assistant Professor of Ethnomusicology, College-Conservatory of Music<\/li>\n<li><strong>Laura Dudley Jenkins<\/strong>, Associate Professor of Political Science, McMicken College of Arts and Sciences<\/li>\n<li><strong>Gregory H. Williams<\/strong>, President, University of Cincinnati<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0\u201cLife of the Mind\u201d is free and open to the public and attracts a broad audience including UC students, faculty, staff, and alumni, as well as people from the community.
