{"id":16987,"date":"2012-08-15T10:53:12","date_gmt":"2012-08-15T14:53:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.libraries.uc.edu\/liblog\/?p=16987"},"modified":"2012-08-15T10:53:12","modified_gmt":"2012-08-15T14:53:12","slug":"farewell-and-best-wishes-to-janice-schulz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/libapps.libraries.uc.edu\/liblog\/2012\/08\/farewell-and-best-wishes-to-janice-schulz\/","title":{"rendered":"Farewell and Best Wishes to Janice Schulz"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>By Kevin Grace<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/libapps.libraries.uc.edu\/liblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/janice-schulz.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-16988\" style=\"margin: 6px\" src=\"https:\/\/libapps.libraries.uc.edu\/liblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/janice-schulz.jpg\" alt=\"Farewell and Best Wishes to Janice Schulz\" width=\"180\" height=\"197\" srcset=\"https:\/\/libapps.libraries.uc.edu\/liblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/janice-schulz.jpg 180w, https:\/\/libapps.libraries.uc.edu\/liblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/janice-schulz-141x155.jpg 141w, https:\/\/libapps.libraries.uc.edu\/liblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/janice-schulz-173x190.jpg 173w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 180px) 100vw, 180px\" \/><\/a>A couple of weeks ago, we notified the University of Cincinnati Libraries staff that our friend and colleague, Janice Schulz, will be leaving the Archives &amp; Rare Books Library.\u00a0 Janice\u2019s last day will be this Friday, the 17<sup>th<\/sup>, and she just gets the weekend off before starting an exciting new position in Dayton with CareSource as the Records and Information Manager.\u00a0 It is a wonderful opportunity for Janice, and we certainly wish her well, but we are very sad that she is leaving.\u00a0 She has been a consummate professional, and an exceptional co-worker.\u00a0 Based on her work at UC, Janice will definitely excel in her new job.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Janice began working in the Archives &amp; Rare Books Library in March 2006.\u00a0 She came from the Public Library and armed with knowledge of records maintenance and a great deal of energy, she solidified the Records Management Program for the university and carried it forward in several new directions.\u00a0 Her personality allowed her to work effectively with everyone at UC in a positive manner, and we can boast of one of the best academic records management programs in the nation.\u00a0 Beyond that, Janice also worked on several Libraries committees, including the Staff Advisory Board, the Exhibits Committee, and the Web Development Committee.\u00a0 And, she has been a mainstay at Books by the Banks since its inception.\u00a0 In her half-dozen years at UC, Janice also completed a second bachelor\u2019s degree (in History, to complement her degree in Business) and was a key member of the Ohio Electronic Records Commission.\u00a0 Very noteworthy, too, is her achievement in earning a Certified Records Manager designation through ARMA International.
