As we celebrate Information Literacy Awareness Month, we challenge you to demonstrate your skills as an image detective.
\nThere are a\"sherlock\"<\/a> lot of amazing picture posted on the web, but many of them are real and others are not \u2013 there are so many ways to alter images or pass them for what they are not by adding a misleading caption. Let\u2019s see how good you are at spotting fakery!<\/p>\n

Thursday challenge answer:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Long exposure of a tree hit by lightning <\/em>is an example of passing an image of what it is not by adding a false caption. It was originally created as an art project. Read the description of the techniques <\/a>used to create the original image. The other images are real.<\/p>\n
