\"Dean’s<\/p>\n

The spring meeting of my Dean\u2019s Advisory Council (DAC) focused on the fourth pillar of UC Libraries\u2019 Strategic Plan<\/a>: Data to Information to Knowledge<\/a>. \u00a0The heart of this pillar is library collections and new forms of scholarship. In order to provide a holistic view of the multi-faceted work we do at UC Libraries curating, preserving, and digitizing our collections, I invited three UCL librarians to come discuss their work with the council: Eira Tansey<\/a>, digital archivist and records manager; Gino Pasi<\/a>, archivist and curator for the Winkler Center of the Health Professions; and Sally Moffitt, reference librarian and bibliographer. Our fourth presenter was the new director of the University of Cincinnati Press, Liz Scarpelli<\/a>.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Along with the presentations from the faculty and staff, and an update from me covering the progress and changes that have occurred at the library since the last DAC meeting, the council continued its tour of UC Libraries\u2019 locations on campus.<\/p>\n

The council toured the Ralph E. Oesper Chemistry-Biology Library and the Oesper Collections in the History of Chemistry. Dr. William B. Jensen, the Oesper Professor of Chemical Education and History of Chemistry, and the curator of the collection, joined them for that portion of the tour.<\/p>\n

CEAS\u2019 Associate Dean of Undergraduate Affairs Allen Arthur walked them through the Alumni Engineering Learning Center in Baldwin Hall.<\/p>\n

Their last two stops were the Geography-Mathematics-Physics Library for a tour with UCL\u2019s Science Informationist, Amy Koshoffer, and the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences Library, where they were joined by Ted Baldwin, Director of the Science and Engineering Libraries.<\/p>\n
