{"id":32786,"date":"2017-05-18T15:16:03","date_gmt":"2017-05-18T19:16:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/libapps.libraries.uc.edu\/liblog\/?p=32786"},"modified":"2017-06-29T14:35:28","modified_gmt":"2017-06-29T18:35:28","slug":"osf-for-uc-is-here","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/libapps.libraries.uc.edu\/liblog\/2017\/05\/osf-for-uc-is-here\/","title":{"rendered":"OSF FOR UC is here"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/libraries.uc.edu\/digital-scholarship\/data-services.html\">Researcher Services group<\/a>, an initiative of UC Libraries with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uc.edu\/ucit\/services\/research.html\">IT@UC R&amp;D Team<\/a>, is pleased to announce a new tool for research projects: <a href=\"https:\/\/osf.uc.edu\/\"><strong>OSF for UC<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>There is no cost to use OSF for UC.\u00a0 <\/strong>OSF, or the <a href=\"https:\/\/osf.io\/\"><strong>Open Science Framework<\/strong><\/a>, an open-source workflow tool appropriate for any discipline and developed by the <a href=\"https:\/\/cos.io\/\"><strong>Center for Open Science<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>OSF for UC<\/strong> &#8212; <a href=\"http:\/\/osf.uc.edu\/\"><strong>osf.uc.edu<\/strong><\/a> &#8212; is UC\u2019s portal for students, faculty, staff and others who need to manage project files and documents. \u00a0Sign-in is easy \u2013 go to <a href=\"http:\/\/osf.uc.edu\/\"><strong>osf.uc.edu<\/strong><\/a>, sign in, choose University of Cincinnati, then your UC 6+2 Central Login.<\/p>\n<p>Through OSF, project teams can assign collaborators (internal and external to UC) and share project documents at a granular level (only share what you want, with whom you want).\u00a0 Projects managed through the OSF are private by default.\u00a0 Any or all parts of a project can be made public as desired or required by grant funders or others.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/osf.io\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-32787 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/libapps.libraries.uc.edu\/liblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/OSFintegration_image_2017.jpg\" alt=\"OSF FOR UC is here\" width=\"974\" height=\"782\" srcset=\"https:\/\/libapps.libraries.uc.edu\/liblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/OSFintegration_image_2017.jpg 974w, https:\/\/libapps.libraries.uc.edu\/liblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/OSFintegration_image_2017-155x124.jpg 155w, https:\/\/libapps.libraries.uc.edu\/liblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/OSFintegration_image_2017-237x190.jpg 237w, https:\/\/libapps.libraries.uc.edu\/liblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/OSFintegration_image_2017-768x617.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 974px) 100vw, 974px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more-->As shown in the image above, OSF integrates with many other research workflow tools and storage services you may already use, including UC Box.\u00a0 OSF for UC can be your one-stop home for managing output from your collaborative research projects.<\/p>\n<p>A webinar on the OSF platform will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2017 from 10am-11am.\u00a0 Learn more about managing your workflow, collaborating, version control, archiving your data, and connecting with other tools with as Box, Github, and more. <a href=\"http:\/\/goo.gl\/ZsXvTj\"><strong>Register for the webinar<\/strong><\/a> at <a href=\"http:\/\/goo.gl\/ZsXvTj\">goo.gl\/ZsXvTj<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Sample OSF Projects in <strong>Arts\/Humanities <\/strong>and<strong> STEM<\/strong> fields that are publicly available:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/osf.uc.edu\/5fh58\/\">Women&#8217;s March on Washington Archives Project<\/a>&#8211;
