She has published five books of poetry and one book of essays, which include an essay about the mathematical conceptions\/interpretation of four short stories of Jorge Luis Borges. She is currently working on her PhD dissertation titled \u201cRedefining the Limits of Language and Representation: A Semiotic Study of the Use of the Mathematical Concepts Infinity, Center, and Limit in Literature.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_33572\" style=\"width: 110px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-33572\" class=\"size-full wp-image-33572\" src=\"https:\/\/libapps.libraries.uc.edu\/liblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/romero.jpg\" alt=\"Armando Romero\" width=\"100\" height=\"130\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-33572\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Armando Romero<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Armando Romero<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Armando Romero is a poet, novelist and literary critic. Romero has a PhD from the University of Pittsburgh. He has published numerous books of poetry, fiction and essays. In 2016, his book of poems <em>El Color del Egeo<\/em> (The Color of the Aegean) was published in Spain and Colombia. He holds a PhD in Latin American literatures and cultures from The Ohio State University. He is the author of Respiraci\u00f3n de piedras (2016), which received the 2015 Poetry Prize from the University of Costa Rica Press. His poetry also appears in The Wandering Song: Central American Writing in the United States (T\u00eda Chucha Press, 2017). He received his B.A. and his M.S. from Florida International University, and his PhD from Georgetown University. His most recent book is Poes\u00eda reunida 1984-2015, published in Madrid and M\u00e9xico. Urbina has edited seven books of essays, published more than 90 articles on literary criticism and delivered more than 120 papers at national and international symposia. In addition, he contributes articles to several newspapers in Latin America. She received her Licenciatura at the University of Alicante, Spain, and her PhD at The Ohio State University. She works on contemporary Spanish poetry, food studies (gastronomy and culinary literature), and Spanish women writers. As a poet, she has published seven books of poetry and her work has been included in a number of anthologies. Her upcoming monograph, <em>Madrid: A Culinary History<\/em>, will be published by Rowman &amp; Littlefield in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sponsored by the University of Cincinnati Libraries and the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures in the College of Arts and Sciences, the readings will be held in the Digital Commons space located in the back of the 4th floor of the Langsam Library. The readings are free and open to the entire UC community. Refreshments will be served.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, check out the display on the 4th floor of Langsam Library near the circulation desk, which highlights books by Hispanic authors. There are several books of 20th century Hispanic poetry.
