Despite the upheaval, Clermont College Library\u00a0persevered\u00a0and\u00a0provided a successful semester for its community.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Some of the highlights from the semester:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In complement to UC Libraries\u00a0<strong>online chat<\/strong>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/libraries.uc.edu\/libraries\/clermont\/services\/ask-clermont.html\">Clermont College Library\u00a0chat\u00a0<\/a>launched to help those specifically on the UC Clermont campus and courses.<\/li>\n<li>New\u00a0<strong>webcams and laptops\u00a0<\/strong>became available\u00a0through\u00a0our\u00a0equipment &amp; technology lending\u00a0for student use\u00a0thanks to a collaboration with UC Clermont ITS.<\/li>\n<li>We offered synchronous and\u00a0asynchronous\u00a0<strong>events<\/strong>\u00a0such as Lunch with Librarians, trivia, poetry readings, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/guides.libraries.uc.edu\/UCClermontDigitalDisplay\">digital displays<\/a>\u00a0for UC Clermont to stay connected.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If we look at it by the\u00a0numbers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The library kept its doors open for students, faculty, and staff for <strong>481 hours<\/strong>. During that time,\u00a0<strong>2,486 visitors<\/strong>\u00a0came through our doors with\u00a0<strong>398 sign in<\/strong>\u00a0to use our space to work and study.<\/li>\n<li>The library faculty created\u00a0<strong>7 Canvas modules<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>3 research guides<\/strong>\u00a0in support of online courses in addition to making\u00a0<strong>5\u00a0synchronous course visits<\/strong>. Collectively these efforts helped\u00a0<strong>365 students<\/strong>\u00a0better their library and research skills.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Library faculty and staff helped\u00a0<strong>425 questions<\/strong>\u00a0find answers at our\u00a0service desk, through email, or through chat. About 10% of those questions were reference support.<\/li>\n<li>Students, faculty, and staff requested more than\u00a0<strong>160 items<\/strong>\u00a0through our Click &amp; Collect service. Meanwhile, we added\u00a0<strong>60 new volumes<\/strong>\u00a0to our collection in addition to assisting faculty with\u00a0<strong>streaming\u00a0services\u00a0<\/strong>to use in their online classroom.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This was a\u00a0first semester in more ways than one, but it was the first fall at UC Clermont for Catie Carlson &amp; Kathy Ladell. Thank you to everyone that helped them learn along the way, and an even bigger thank you to the Clermont College Library Staff &amp; UC Clermont facilities team that made Fall 2020 possible.<\/p>\n<p>See you in the Spring!
