For example, if an author is part of the LGBTQ+ community and they write about a\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">character that is also part of the LGBTQ+ community then that book is an Own Voices book.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">#OwnVoices was created by Corinne\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Duyvis<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">a young adult author<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0and co-founder of\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/disabilityinkidlit.com\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Disability in Kidlit<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.
