{"id":41405,"date":"2021-05-11T13:22:15","date_gmt":"2021-05-11T17:22:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/libapps.libraries.uc.edu\/liblog\/?p=41405"},"modified":"2021-05-11T13:22:15","modified_gmt":"2021-05-11T17:22:15","slug":"ucs-digital-scholarship-center-presents-digital-integrator-and-transdisciplinary-research-partner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/libapps.libraries.uc.edu\/liblog\/2021\/05\/ucs-digital-scholarship-center-presents-digital-integrator-and-transdisciplinary-research-partner\/","title":{"rendered":"UC&#8217;s Digital Scholarship Center presents &#8220;Digital Integrator and Transdisciplinary Research Partner&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">This <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Association of College and Research Libraries&#8217; (ACRL) Spring 2021 Digital Scholarship Section featured &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9Gi3luvzzrw\">Digital Integrator &amp; Transdisciplinary Research Partner<\/a>,&#8221; a virtual panel highlighting <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">the University of Cincinnati&#8217;s <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.libraries.uc.edu\/dsc\">Digital Scholarship Center<\/a>\u2019s (DSC) unique model and work with research teams focused on misinformation and missing information. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The DSC partnered with UC Libraries\u2019 Research and Data Services Team and the Department of Journalism to research Twitter\u2019s impact on misinformation, false information and conspiracy theories about coronavirus. Using machine learning and linguistic analysis, the team also partnered with Cincinnati Children&#8217;s Hospital Medical Center to understand the role of missing information in electronic health records as it relates to social determinants of health. During the presentation, the panel discuss<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ed<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> the unique organization of the DSC and its partnerships on campus<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> and<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> how health information professionals and the DSC work together on research projects involving social media, social justice and social determinants of health. She focuses on strategic planning and operational strategy, technology and space implementation and student workers.Prior to working with the DSC, Kristen was the assistant director for research and informatics at UC\u2019s Donald C. Harrison Health Sciences Library. In this position, Mr. Jason utilizes his strong background in informatics to deliver services and resources to the UC Academic Health Center. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Mr. Jason\u2019s unique role,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> allows him to develop resources and services that focus on informatics, patient care and clinical research.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Lindsay Nickels<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">, PhD<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">: Lindsay Nickels, PhD, is the program coordinator for the Digital Scholarship Center, working on multiple research projects funded by the Mellon Foundation grant.
