Deshon and Karl J. Schlachter Library of DAAP is hosting Professor Mark Harris&#8217;s BFA &#8220;Topics in Contemporary Art-Art Criticism&#8221; class exhibit.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Mark Harris writes this about the exhibit:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right\">This display of artists\u2019 books comes from <br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>the DAAP Library Special Collections. <br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>Last spring semester these books were selected by BFA students in my Topics in Contemporary Art\u2014Art Criticism class for a writing assignment. Students were asked to select two books by different artists and write a 1,000 word evaluation and comparison. They were welcome to experiment with writing approaches. What you see here are short extracts from their essays.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right\">Mark Harris<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">The writing samples are by these students\u2014<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Sabrina Argotte, <br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>Sheridan Ave, Aliesha Caldwell, Trinity Campbell, Grace Casella, Katherine Donaghy, Sam Engel, Callie Gaines, Kat Hardy, Catherine Hummel, Vicky Lee, <br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>Nathalie Lorenz, Nicole Moore, <br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>Ashton Morris, Hugh Moscoe, <br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>Arisa Nakahata, Emma Schutte, <br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>Vidushi Shrivastava, Kara Yeomans<\/p>\n<p>Professor Harris installed the exhibit with shelves askew and books displayed at haphazard angles, which makes the exhibit a colorful, jumbled visual delight.
