Langsam Library<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the next event,&nbsp;<strong>scheduled for Wednesday, January 31 at 4:30pm<\/strong>, three poets will read their original work:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:42% auto\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"647\" height=\"2108\" src=\"https:\/\/libapps.libraries.uc.edu\/liblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/poets_jan31_24.png\" alt=\"poets\" class=\"wp-image-44796 size-full\" srcset=\"https:\/\/libapps.libraries.uc.edu\/liblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/poets_jan31_24.png 647w, https:\/\/libapps.libraries.uc.edu\/liblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/poets_jan31_24-43x141.png 43w, https:\/\/libapps.libraries.uc.edu\/liblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/poets_jan31_24-471x1536.png 471w, https:\/\/libapps.libraries.uc.edu\/liblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/poets_jan31_24-629x2048.png 629w, https:\/\/libapps.libraries.uc.edu\/liblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/poets_jan31_24-92x300.png 92w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 647px) 100vw, 647px\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Lisa Ampleman<\/strong> is the author of three full-length books of poetry, including <em>Mom in Space <\/em>(2024) and\u202f<em>Romances<\/em>\u202f(2020), both with LSU Press, and <em>Full Cry <\/em>(NFSPS Press, 2013), as well as a chapbook, <em>I\u2019ve Been Collecting This to Tell You <\/em>(Kent State UP, 2012).\u202fHer work has appeared recently in journals including<em> 32 Poems, Colorado Review, Cortland Review, Ecotone, Georgia Review, The Rumpus, Shenandoah<\/em>, and <em>Southern Review<\/em>, and she was the recipient of an Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award in FY22. She lives in Cincinnati and is the managing editor of\u202f<em>The Cincinnati Review\u202f<\/em>and poetry series editor at Acre Books.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/paulettahansel.wordpress.com\/\">Pauletta Hansel<\/a><\/strong>\u2019s poetry collections include <em>Will There Also Be Singing?<\/em> (Shadelandhouse Modern Press, 2024), <em>Heartbreak Tree<\/em> (Madville Publications, 2022), which won the Poetry Society of Virginia\u2019s 2023 North American Book Award, and <em>Palindrome<\/em> (Dos Madres Press, 2023), winner of the 2017 Weatherford Award for Appalachian poetry. Pauletta\u2019s writing is featured in <em>Oxford American<\/em>, <em>Rattle, Appalachian Journal, Cincinnati Review, Cutleaf, Sequestrum, Verse Daily<\/em> and <em>Poetry Daily, <\/em>among others. She was the 2022 Writer-in-Residence for The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County, Thomas More University\u2019s first Writer in Residence (2012-2015), and WordPlay Cincy\u2019s first Writer in Residence (2015-2016).&nbsp; She is a core member of the Urban Appalachian Community Coalition, and past managing editor of <em>Pine Mountain Sand &amp; Gravel<\/em>, the literary journal of the Southern Appalachian Writers Cooperative.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dani Charles<\/strong> is a queer, Hispanic poet from McAllen, Texas, and recent MFA graduate of the Iowa Writers\u2019 Workshop; where they received the 2021 John Logan Poetry Prize, appeared in Poetry Magazine and Denver Quarterly. They\u2019re currently in their first year of the Creative Writing PhD program at University of Cincinnati.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>The mission of Poetry Stacked is to celebrate poetry and raise awareness of the collections of both UC Libraries and the Elliston Poetry Room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each reading engages audiences via exposure to contemporary poetry and increases appreciation for both the talents of UC and community poets, as well as for poetry itself. Poetry Stacked is free and open to all to attend. Following each reading, guests are invited to tour the Elliston Poetry Room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The intent of the series is to enrich and engage the UC campus and Cincinnati communities in accordance with the Libraries\u2019&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/libraries.uc.edu\/about\/strategic-framework.html\">Strategic Framework<\/a>&nbsp;and the Next Lives Here Strategic Directions in support of Academic Excellence and Community Engagement. It aligns with the Libraries\u2019 vision as the globally engaged, intellectual commons of the university \u2013 positioning ourselves as the hub of collaboration, digital innovation, and scholarly endeavor on campus and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Can\u2019t make it to Poetry Stacks in person?
