The University of Cincinnati Libraries celebrated the International Edible Books Festival on Monday, April 1, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year saw a record 27 entries<\/strong> from students, librarians, faculty and staff throughout the university and from the Cincinnati community. There are few restrictions in creating an edible book \u2013 namely that the creation be edible and have something to do with a book. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Submitted entries include intriguing titles such as \u201cCatching Fire,\u201d \u201c3D Graphics Rendering Cookbook,\u201d \u201cAngle of Repose,\u201d \u201cAnd Then There Were None\u201d and \u201cThe Scarlet Letter.\u201d Nature is a theme this year with \u201cThe Shell Seekers,\u201d \u201cJust a Worm,\u201d \u201cGathering Moss,\u201d \u201cThe Secret Garden\u201d and \u201cCrossings: How Road Ecology is Shaping the Future of our Planet.\u201d Out-of-this-world titles \u201cWar of the Worlds\u201d and \u201cThe Hitchhiker\u2019s Guide to the Galaxy\u201d will thrill attendees while \u201cPop-a-rif-ic,\u201d \u201cSquish Delish\u201d and \u201cTrufflemadorian\u201d will leave them happy. Numerous children\u2019s books will make people smile with such titles as \u201cBunnicula,\u201d \u201cFancy Nancy,\u201d \u201cThe Cheshire Cat,\u201d \u201cThe Little Prince,\u201d \u201cDragons Love Tacos,\u201d \u201cCorduroy\u2019s Lost Buttons,\u201d \u201cPorkopolis\u201d and \u201cAlice\u2019s Adventures in Wonderland.\u201d Poetry is represented with \u201cApricots of Donbas\u201d along with biographies \u201cTupak\u201d and \u201cThe Story of My Life.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>

In addition to promoting the reading of books, we also use this event to promote and \u201cjudge\u201d the creativity of our colleagues and friends in creating edible books. Once again, the entries are remarkable. The two esteemed judges were Tina and Zach from The Desk@Langsam. And the winners are\u2026
