Yeiser, Sr. was President of the Globe-Wernicke Company, but there is very little on Frederick Yeiser\u2019s early life in this collection.&nbsp; Instead, the collection largely begins with information on Yeiser\u2019s attendance at Princeton University in the late 1910\u2019s.&nbsp; Yeiser\u2019s studies were interrupted by World War I and he served for six months in the U.S. Navy.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;After his service, he returned to Princeton and received his bachelor\u2019s degree in 1921.&nbsp; &nbsp;He then worked for three years for his father\u2019s company, the Globe-Wernicke Company, before accepting a teaching position with American University in Beirut, Syria.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>There are a significant number of photographs in the collection documenting Frederick Yeiser\u2019s travels during the 1920s and 1930s.&nbsp; Passports included in the collection show that Yeiser traveled extensively during this time.&nbsp; There are photos of Yeiser\u2019s visits to Egypt, Lebanon, Palestine, Northern and Central Syria, including Al-Qaryatayn, Damascus, Palmyra, and Nazareth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"608\" height=\"463\" src=\"https:\/\/libapps.libraries.uc.edu\/liblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/us-99-21_frederick_yeiser_frederick-and-sylvia001_small.jpg\" alt=\"A black and white photo of a man in a solider's uniform and a woman in a striped sweater. Frederick Yeiser later married the Countess of Reigersberg, Sylvia Reigersberg.&nbsp; They met and were engaged prior to the outbreak of World War II but were separated during the war.&nbsp; The couple was finally able to marry in 1946.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"207\" height=\"356\" src=\"https:\/\/libapps.libraries.uc.edu\/liblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/us-99-21-frederick_yeiser_men-in-front-of-ruins001_small.jpg\" alt=\"A black and white photo of two men seated in front of ruins.
