Myers Alumni Center. Free and open to the UC community and public, <em>Life of the Mind<\/em> features interdisciplinary conversations with UC faculty around a one-word theme. Each quarter, there are two <em>Life of the Mind<\/em> sessions with three &#8220;thought provocateurs&#8221; contributing to each session. Each scholar provides a 15-minute talk followed by audience Q&amp;A.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The first <em>Life of the Mind <\/em>theme is \u201cTechnology.\u201d Six distinguished faculty members will address the theme from unique and diverse perspectives:<\/p>\n<p><strong>April 19, 2011, 3:30-5 p.m., Alumni Center <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Christy K. Holland, College of Medicine<\/li>\n<li>John McEvoy, McMicken College of Arts and Sciences<\/li>\n<li>Carlo Montemagno, College of Engineering and Applied Science<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>May 10, 2011, 3:30-5 p.m., Alumni Center<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Peter DePietro, College-Conservatory of Music<\/li>\n<li>Howard Jackson, McMicken College of Arts and Sciences<\/li>\n<li>Ming Tang, College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Future <em>Life of the Mind<\/em> themes are \u201cWar,\u201d scheduled for fall 2011, and \u201cIdentity,\u201d scheduled for spring 2012.
