Langsam Library<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scheduled for Wednesdays, Oct. 19 and Nov. 30 at 4:30pm, each event will feature three poets reading their original poetry. Her second book of poems <em>Emporium <\/em>(2020) received the James Laughlin Award. Her other works include the poetry collection <em>Some Beheadings<\/em> (2017), an essay pamphlet titled&nbsp;<em>The End<\/em>&nbsp;(2020), a translation from the French of Farid Tali\u2019s novella <em>Prosopopoeia<\/em> (2016) and several poetry chapbooks. Her writing appears in journals like <em>BOMB<\/em>, <em>The Chicago Review<\/em>, <em>Lana Turner<\/em>, <em>The Rumpus<\/em>, <em>Volt,<\/em> and <em>Western Humanities Review<\/em> among others. She works as an assistant professor of poetry at the University of Cincinnati.<br><\/li><li><strong>Rae Hoffman Jager<\/strong> is the author of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/nam11.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fkelsaybooks.com%2Fproducts%2Famerican-bitch&amp;data=05%7C01%7CNORRISMS%40ucmail.uc.edu%7C7297a2df6f334c0538d208da900da15a%7Cf5222e6c5fc648eb8f0373db18203b63%7C1%7C0%7C637980685544892839%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=w3aKs5nkVLRS7jJENZ41AxXMkxpTByraVVM%2FrALlVUE%3D&amp;reserved=0\"><em>American Bitch<\/em><\/a>&nbsp;(Kelsay Books \u201822). Rae\u2019s poetry and essays have appeared in a wide variety of online and print magazines: <em>Atticus, Contrary, Glass, a Journal of Poetry, Honey Lit<\/em> and <em>Kveller<\/em>\u2014to name a few. She has work forthcoming in&nbsp;<em>New York Quarterly<\/em>. Additionally Rae was named one of the \u201822 Emerging Artist Fellows for the Ish Festival in Cincinnati. Rae holds a BA from Warren Wilson College and an MFA from Wichita State University. When she is not writing, publishing and teaching yoga, she is spending time with her spouse, daughter Ivy and two old dogs.<br><\/li><li><strong>Dior J. Stephens<\/strong> is a proud Pisces hailing from Midwestern waters. He is the author of the chapbooks SCREAMS &amp; <em>lavender<\/em>, 001 and <strong><em>CANNON!<\/em><\/strong>. Their debut full-length collection, CRUEL\/CRUEL, is forthcoming with Nightboat Books. Each reading will engage audiences via exposure to contemporary poetry and increase appreciation for both the talents of UC and community poets, as well as for poetry itself. Poetry Stacked is free and open to all to attend. Following each reading, attendees will be invited to tour the Elliston Poetry Room to view their collection and space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The intent of the series is to enrich and engage the UC campus and Cincinnati communities in accordance with the Libraries\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/libraries.uc.edu\/about\/strategic-framework.html\">Strategic Framework<\/a> and the Next Lives Here Strategic Directions in support of Academic Excellence and Community Engagement.
