St. George Hotel Santa CruzIn Letter 29, Ambrose Bierce mentions in passing that if Myles Walsh is interested in moving out to California he should look up his uncle who oversees a hotel for employment.  The hotel in question was the St. George Hotel, once located in the downtown area of Santa Cruz, California.  Historical information about the hotel and building can be found here:  St. George Residences “History”.
