Samuel Beckett

Samuel Beckett was an Irish novelist, theatre director, and poet.  His works offers a bleak outlook on human nature, often coupled with black comedy and gallows humor.  He is considered one of the last modernists.  Beckett was awarded the 1969 Nobel Prize in Literature.
