Halloween Challenge Winners

The story in which the narrator, a member of D’Odds family, learned German in order to master a book on demonology, is titled “Selecting a Ghost: The Ghosts of Goresthorpe Grange.” It is available online through a link in the catalog record.

The author if the story is Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who was interested in spiritualism and belonged to the supernatural organization The Ghost Club.  He wrote a number of stories that deal with supernatural, for example, “The Brown Hand,” “The captain of the Polestar,” “The Great Keinplatz Experiment, ” and more.
