Now through December 19th, donate food items for the Freestore Foodbank and reduce your library fine up to $5!
One good deed deserves another…
For each non-perishable food item brought to a participating UC library location (see list below), $1 will be subtracted from library fines (up to $5).
Participating libraries:
- Robert A. Deshon and Karl J. Schlachter Library for Design, Architecture, Art and Planning (DAAP)
- Geology-Mathematics-Physics Library
- Donald C. Harrison Health Sciences Library
- Langsam Library
- College of Education, Criminal Justice and Human Services (CECH) Library
- UC Blue Ash College Library (Dec.8-19)
The details:
- Patrons who wish to have their fines reduced should bring their donations to the attention of library staff at participating library service desks and complete a Food for Fines card, which will ask for their name, M number and the number of food items they are donating.
- One non-perishable food item = $1.00 and applies only to fines (not lost/replacement fees).
- The maximum fine reduction per person is $5.00.
- Food items cannot be homemade, dented or expired.
- Everyone may donate food even if they don’t have fines.
- Fines will not be deducted immediately, but all adjustments will be made before the beginning of next semester.
- UC Libraries staff members will collect and deliver food to the Freestore Foodbank.
Food for Fines is sponsored by UC Libraries’ Staff Advisory Council. For more information, contact June Taylor-Slaughter 513 556 1587 / taylorju@uc.edu.
