UCBA Librarians participated in the 3rd annual UC Serves day of service on Friday, May 6th. Instruction Services Librarian, Lauren Wahman’s team of nine was led by library colleague, Michelle McKinney, Reference and Web Services Librarian. Their service project, located in Mt. Healthy, was in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati’s 30th Anniversary event, Women Build: 3 Homes in 30 working days for three families. They helped construct wall units, scaffold supports, erect walls and roof trellises. Click here to see more photos from the Habitat for Humanity service project.

Library Director, Heather Maloney was part of a group of UC Serves volunteers who had the pleasure of helping students at South Elementary School and the Mt. Healthy Urban Tree Commission representatives to plant trees as part of an Arbor Day event. Volunteers also mulched trees throughout Mt. Healthy and later in the afternoon assisted with research and brainstorming activities for Mt. Healthy’s bicentennial in 2017.
