Welcome New Student Orientation

orientationWelcome New Student Orientation

Langsam Library is playing host to new students 10-11am, June 30-Aug 13.

UC Libraries Orientation Volunteers are giving new students a taste of what’s available in the Libraries. While visiting Langsam, the new students spend time in the Info Commons to learn about the UC Libraries Web site, printing in the libraries, and to take their turn at trying to stump a peer mentor on their trivia knowledge.

The new students then head upstairs to visit the UCit@Langsam 24/7 computer and study space and to watch a video about the services provided by UCit.

After a tour of the 5th floor to see the stacks and other popular library spots, they head back down to the 4th floor to learn about making movies and other prentations in the STRC and to take a Library Pop-Quiz to test their knowledge on libraries (i.e. Are there more McDonalds or libraries in the U.S.?). They conclude their visit by taking a picture with our Bearcat — BearCATALOG.

We look forward to seeing the new students return to UC Libraries in the fall.
