Beginning January 5, Clermont College Library will be by appointment only. You can request appointments to use library equipment and borrow library materials. To ease the use of library materials, we will offer drop-in hours Tuesdays from 9 AM to 11 AM and Wednesdays from 1 PM to 3 PM. Virtual support (chat, email, and online appointments) will remain available during business hours.
For students during this time, equipment (such as laptops, headphones, webcams, and light rings) will be available for check out. Equipment may be borrowed during the online pivot or for the entire semester, depending on type and availability. Submit a request to learn more about availability and set up an appointment for pick up. Textbook reserves will also remain available during these two weeks during drop-in hours, or you may request to have the textbook during the online period (January 24).
For faculty during this time, please let your students know the library is still available virtually. We do support online instruction through webinars. You can also request one of our ready-made Canvas modules (or ask for changes to them) on Clermont College Library, the research process, and source evaluation to use in your (not-so-) suddenly online course.
If you have questions, you can reach library staff by visiting the virtual support page or emailing clermontlibrary@uc.edu.
These changes are due to the recent increase in local, state, and national COVID-19 cases, and the high transmission rate of the Omicron variant. In response, the University of Cincinnati transitioned online on January 5, 2022, and will pivot back to full in-person activities on Monday, January 24, 2022.
