Returning the She-Wolf (Lupa) to Cincinnati
Edited from LiBlog posts by Rebecka Lindau, head of the John Miller Burnam Classics Library In response to the theft in June 2022 of the She-Wolf (Lupa) statue from her perch in Cincinnati’s Eden Park, the Cincinnati chapter of the Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America raised funds for its replacement and return. A workshop connected to the University of Florence, Italy, created a replica and shipped it to the United States where it arrived in Cincinnati on Friday, August 25, 2023. The statue will be officially returned to Eden Park at a dedication ceremony on Friday, Nov. 3, 2023, at 10:00 am. The She-Wolf statue was originally…

How does that saying go about change? “The only constant in life is change.” We who work in academia know this to be very true – change, both enacted and exacted, is constant. Each year we see students graduate in the summer and then a whole new cohort of students begin at the university in the fall. We welcome new faculty and researchers to the library. A Medical Pioneer goes Digital

The collection consists of photographs, memorabilia, awards, correspondence, newspaper clippings and a scrapbook documenting the personal life and professional career of Dr.Oxley, a beloved family medicine doctor and general practitioner in Cincinnati, Ohio. CEAS Library History The CEAS Library represents the combined collections and services of two historic libraries: the College of Engineering and the Ohio Mechanics Institute / College of Applied Science. A Year of New Beginnings… Welcome to the 2021-22 University of Cincinnati Libraries Annual Progress Report – a year that saw the broad return of students, faculty and staff to campus for fall semester. The transition from virtual to in-person was an extensive process as library spaces were re-evaluated to allow for a safe return to working and studying on campus. We welcomed students, faculty and staff back to campus with refreshed spaces, enhanced safety protocols for social distancing and a revived appreciation for working together in person. Library Spotlight: CCM Library
For over 70 years, the Albino Gorno Memorial Library has served the research and instructional needs of the students and faculty of the College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) at the University of Cincinnati. The CCM Library was founded in 1949, built on the personal collection of Professor Albino Gorno, dean of the Cincinnati College of Music for over 40 years. Today, the CCM Library collections focus on materials that support CCM-related areas of music, musical theater, dance, and some aspects of theater and drama, while the Walter C. Loyal fans, the couple have been rooting for UC’s female student-athletes since the 1970s. This devotion doesn’t end with the season. Through philanthropic gifts, the Kretschmers support the college experience of student-athletes, knowing this will lead to bright futures.
