UC Clermont Library has made some exciting changes to its staffing. Emily Wages transitioned to a new role and is now UC Clermont’s Collection Manager. Emily will now work with new acquisitions, course reserves, donations, and weeding projects.
To fill Emily’s previous role as Operations Manager, UC Clermont is excited to welcome Brea McQueen to the team. Brea will handle technology lending, library spaces & events, library accounts, and student employment.
Brea is a local librarian and activist who has spent the majority of her career working with youth in public libraries across Cincinnati. She’s incredibly passionate about providing meaningful service to historically underserved communities and challenging the ideas of what librarianship should look like.
Brea graduated from Miami University with a BA in English Literature, as well as a BA in Women’s, Gender, & Sexuality Studies and then continued on to Kent State University where she completed her MLIS. She volunteers her time to doing research and activism around disability and accessibility in libraries.
In her spare time, you can find her getting involved in her community, tending to her urban garden, endlessly scrolling through TikToks on Instagram, and shouting about how much she loves horror fiction and romance novels on her social media pages. She resides in Northside with her two cats BenBen & Winston who are much cooler than she could ever hope to be.
