John Lortie Joins UC Clermont

John comes to UC Clermont Library from eight years with the Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library, where he most recently held the position of Youth Librarian at the Mt. Washington Branch Library. He holds a Master of Library and Information Science Degree from Kent State University as well as two degrees from Ohio University: an MA in Public Media and a BS in Audio Production. In his role as Operations Manager, John will manage our student employees and help to oversee some of the services we offer to the UC Clermont Community.

He lives Clermont County with his wife, son, and pets (a dog and three cats). When not in the library, John enjoys being outside walking, hiking, running, or doing yard work. The indoor-oriented activities that bring him the most joy include reading, playing video games, and listening to music.

Welcome New UC Clermont Staff, Brea McQueen

UC Clermont Library has made some exciting changes to its staffing. Emily Wages transitioned to a new role and is now UC Clermont’s Collection Manager. Emily will now work with new acquisitions, course reserves, donations, and weeding projects.

To fill Emily’s previous role as Operations Manager, UC Clermont is excited to welcome Brea McQueen to the team. Brea will handle technology lending, library spaces & events, library accounts, and student employment.

Jeremy Berberich joins UC Libraries as the Associate Director of Business Affairs

Today, Jeremy Berberich joined UC Libraries as the associate director of business affairs.  Jeremy comes to UC from Northern Kentucky University where he was the business officer for the College of Health Professions. He previously served as associate vice president for Knowledge Management at Gateway Community and Technical College and prior to that as a reference librarian and associate director for library and information services at Gateway. Jeremy holds a BA in political science with a minor in economics from the University of Louisville, an MLIS from the University of Kentucky and an MBA from Northern Kentucky University.

Jeremy will be a member of the Dean’s Cabinet and will lead the Business Office and HR operations.

Welcome, Christian Boyles!

The UCBA Library team welcomes Christian Boyles as the new Collection Services Manager. Christian has over 20 years experience in libraries and comes to us from the Xavier University Library where he was the Acquisitions and Preservation Assistant.

Christian’s primary responsibility will be managing UCBA Library collection services including acquiring and cataloging library materials. You will also see him at the Information Desk providing support to students, staff and faculty.
