Next week, UC Libraries will make updates to the website in order to improve usability and discoverability, as well as to simplify navigation. These changes are reflective of results from user testing, analytics and edit requests received throughout the year. Where possible, redirects will be included, but please note new URLs listed below and update any bookmarks as necessary.

Updates include:

• Add Guides as a fifth tab on the search widget, so as to increase visibility and easy access to all library research guides directly from the homepage.
• Changes to the Global Navigation links:
  • Remove Online Library, retain relevant information and move to a new section called Search.
  • Search will include:
    • Search widget.
    • Langsam call number locator. New link: https://libraries.uc.edu/search/call-number-locator-langsam-library-.html
    • Help Finding Materials. New link: https://libraries.uc.edu/search/help.html
    • Online Reference Shelf. New link: https://libraries.uc.edu/search/online-reference.html
    • Online Access FAQ. New link: https://libraries.uc.edu/search/online-access.html
  • Libraries becomes Library Locations. NOTE: this does not include a change to any URLs, but rather ONLY the label changes so as to improve clarity, especially due to its new proximity to the Libraries sub-header under the UC logo.
  • Find, Request, Borrow becomes Borrow and Request to more accurately reflect content and to differentiate between Search and Research & Teaching Support.
• Remove Login as most of that content is either no longer valid or is located elsewhere.
  • Rename Access to Online Access FAQ and Move to new Search. New link: https://libraries.uc.edu/search/online-access.html
  • Move My Library Record to Request and Borrow. New link: https://libraries.uc.edu/borrow-request/my-library-record.html.
  • Move Pay Fines to Request and Borrow. New link: https://libraries.uc.edu/request-borrow/payfinesonline.html

Please note, other library resources, including Summon, the Library Catalog and Library Guides integration into Canvas, have had or will also have updates. If you use these resources in your courses or research, we also recommend checking that your links, bookmarks and information are still up to date.
