New Paths to Articles and Books on UCBA Library Website

The new Research Basics CampusGuide is now available!  This guide provides a basic starting point for students as they begin research on any topic. Some of our Library homepage links have been updated to link to resources this new guide. For example, as illustrated below, the path to commonly used article resources will link to the Articles page of the UCBA Research Basics guide. Commonly used article resources found in the new guide include:

  • A-Z Database List
  • Academic Search Complete
  • Summon
  • Opposing Viewpoints
  • Full Text Journal Finder
You can search Academic Search Complete, Summon and Opposing Viewpoints directly from the guide. Any databases not found can easily be searched using the A-Z Database list.

The Books link has also been changed to point to the Books page of the UCBA Research Basics guide. Commonly used book resources can be found here, including:

  • UC Library Catalog
  • OhioLINK Catalog
  • Additional search options with links to e-Reference, WorldCat, and the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County

CampusGuides: Taking Research Guides to the Next Level

The UC Blue Ash Library, in conjunction with UC Libraries, is transitioning the subject and class guides to a more user-friendly, robust CampusGuides interface during the 2011-2012 academic year. CampusGuides incorporate search boxes, RSS Feeds, embedded media, surveys and can be easily accessed on mobile devices. See the UCBA Psychology guide for an example of a new and improved guide. We look forward to your feedback and suggestions in order to make these guides as useful as possible for our users.  Continue reading

Same Great Library Info with a New Name (and URL)

The Library website has officially been updated to reflect our new name, the UCBA Library, with a new web address found at www.libraries.uc.edu/ucba.  We have also taken this opportunity to revise our website so that information is easier
to find.

You will also notice changes in other areas including:

  • Online Library Catalog (location holdings for Blue Ash College Library or Blue Ash Stacks, Blue Ash Reference, etc.)
  • UCBA Library LiBlog
  • UC Libraries Mobile Site
  • Related links found on the UC Libraries website
  • Library web page on UCBA College website

New RefWorks 2.0 Interface

RefWorks rolled out its new 2.0 interface for users on May 16th, 2011. The classic RefWorks interface will continue to be available until January 3, 2012. If you have not yet taken the opportunity to look at RefWorks 2.0, log in to RefWorks and simply click on the “RefWorks 2.0” link on the top of the RefWorks window to switch over to the new interface.

The new RefWorks 2.0 is more visually appealing and a user-friendly than the classic version If you have not already become familiar with the new 2.0 interface, you have until the end of the year to do so.
