UCBA Library Celebrates National Library Week
Join the UCBA Library as we celebrate National Library Week, April 14th-18th by taking part in any of the following activities:
- All Week
- Library Question of the Day: Each day we’ll post a question related to libraries, reading or books. Answer the question, snag an Info Geek button with your submission and enter for a chance to win a $10 Bleecker Street Gift Card.
- Library Trivia: Interesting library facts will be posted daily on the rolling chalkboard directly across from the library entrance.
- Library Survey: Share your thoughts and ideas about the library on a short survey and enter for a chance to win a $10 UCBA Bookstore Gift Card.
- Wednesday, April 16th
- Pick up a nerdy treat at the Info Desk from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Check out the library staff as they rock their library gear and bling.
- Friday, April 18th: Winners for the Bleecker Street and UCBA Bookstore Gift Cards will be chosen at noon. Winners will be notified by email.

UCBA Library Fun Facts: Bad Book Habits
Question: Do you have a bad book habit?
Heather Maloney, Library Director: Getting too many and letting them pile up on my bedside table. I try to answer all of life’s quandaries with a different book.
Michelle McKinney, Reference/Web Services Librarian: Accidentally re-reading books. I’ll borrow a book from the library and realize a few chapters in that I’ve read it before.
Kellie Tilton, Instructional Technologies Librarian: Using the dust jacket flaps as a bookmark. Not as bad as earmarking the page, but still not as good as an actual bookmark.
Lauren Wahman, Instruction Librarian: Finding too many good ones and running out of time to read them all. And, occasionally, picking up one that I’ve already read!
Rachel Lewis, Technical Services Manager: Not at all!
Tammy Manger, Public Services Manager: Falling asleep only after two pages…I hate that!
Chris Marshall, Public Services Assistant: Earmarking the pages. Bad Habit!

As a twitter addict, I have to say the Twitter app is one of my 4faves. But I also love the 30/30 productivity app. And there are some AMAZING travel apps I love to use.
Michelle McKinney, Reference/Web Services Librarian: PhotoCircle. Create a “circle”; invite other people to join it and everyone can upload and see photos instantly. Great when you want to share a photo with a specific group of people.

My phone is ancient…never used one.

The new Research Process guide is now available! This guide provides a step-by-step approach to library research and moves you from topic to determining the quality of sources. You’ll also find a Citing Sources tab with links to citation resources and a Build Your Project tab where you’ll find contact information for experts at UC Blue Ash’s academic support centers and labs.
