Thank you to all who generously donated new and gently used coats, hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, and even blankets to support our UCBA Cares – Spread the Warmth Drive 2017. We collected over 148 items and donated them this week to the Greater Cincinnati Homeless Coalition. Our donations will help make this winter and the holiday season a lot warmer for so many who are truly in need!
The Spread the Warmth Drive was sponsored and coordinated by the UCBA Library and Student Nursing Association.
The UCBA Library welcomes a Cincinnati Museum Center exhibit honoring our college’s 50th Anniversary. The display includes 1960’s era consumer products, a brief overview of major events and statistics of 1967, and a monitor running historic video entitled “Outlook 67”, produced by National Television featuring an overview of the economy for the then upcoming year 1967. Take a break from exams to stop by and check it out!
Curate My Community is a series of exhibits at various locations that lets the Cincinnati Museum Center’s share its rich collections and the region’s incredible natural and man-made history with lifelong Members and new audiences. Together with partner organizations throughout the community we’ll continue to spark curiosity, educate people about the science and history of the region, and inspire lifelong learners. Are you a positive, dedicated person? Do you have basic computer and customer services skills, but you’re looking for more? And most importantly, do you love books, technology, and helping others? Then, a job at the library may be for you!
The UCBA Library is seeking student workers to join a welcoming work environment with flexible hours, focused on providing exceptional service. We are especially looking for students with availability from 11-2 on Mondays and 11-5 on Fridays.
As part of its community outreach, UCBA welcomed 5th and 6th grade students from Rockdale Academy to campus today for the UC Smiles program. The UCBA Library participates in this program by teaching library workshops to students during their day on campus. These workshops give students the opportunity to learn about a college library and tour the space.
This commemorative month aims to provide a platform for Native Americans in the United States of America to share their culture, traditions, music, crafts, dance, and ways and concepts of life. This gives Native people the opportunity to express to their community, both city, county and state officials their concerns and solutions for building bridges of understanding and friendship in their local area. Your UCBA library is sharing a selection of our titles relating to many aspects of Native American life. The display will be available until December 8th and can also be browsed online on the Library Displays at UCBA guide. Special thanks to our student employee, Haiden Reno, for putting the display together.
