Berlin Phil Digital Concert Hall, 2024-25 Season live broadcasts

The Berlin Philharmonic Digital Concert Hall 2024-25 Season has just begun!

  • The 2024-25 Season began with a live broadcast of Bruckner’s Fifth Symphony on Friday, 24 August. This concert will soon be available in the archive.
  • The season continues with a live broadcast on Saturday, 7 September, of a program conducted by Jonathan Nott, including Peter Eötvös’s Cziffra Psodia for piano and orchestra (German premiere), with Pierre-Laurent Aimard (piano). and Charles Ives’s Symphony No. 4.
  • All the season’s concerts will be broadcast live in the Digital Concert Hall and then will be available in the archive.

    If you like to access the Berlin Phil Digital Concert Hall, you should have no problem finding the site, either 1) on the CCM Library home page, through “Top Resources” > “Online Video”, OR 2) look it up through the UC Library’s A-Z list of databases.

When accessing the Berlin Phil Digital Concert Hall, UC users have two options: 1) Direct Access without setting up an account OR 2) Login by creating a personal account that will enable additional features like playlists and email notifications. BOTH OPTIONS WORK for UC users.

Generation NOW: Accessibility in Opera
Sunday, January 23 at 4pm EST

How can our community work towards a more equitable and accessible environment? Join Opera NexGen for Generation NOW: Accessibility in Opera. This roundtable discussion will address the existing ableism in opera and offer insight into how the disabled community of both opera professionals and audiences can be actively included in the industry. Admission is free, but registration is required.

  • The UC community has access to current research from all CUP journals (over 400) for three years, 2022-24.
    (Note: Older research from CUP journals is often available through JSTOR.)
  • UC authors may publish open-access journal articles with author fees funded (with restrictions).

Berlin Philharmonic Digital Concert Hall is back!

Access to Berlin Philharmonic Digital Concert Hall is restored, after a few days of unexpected interruption. They updated their website causing some technical issues that needed correction. Many thanks to the library’s subscription resources team for their prompt response and resolution!

If you like to enter the Berlin Phil Digital Concert Hall as follows, you should have no problem accessing the site after logging in (UCID + password and DUO authentication):

  • on the CCM Library home page, through “Top Resources” > “Online Video”
  • through the library’s A-Z list of databases

If you use another link, it’s possible it needs updating. Here’s the working URL address:

Recording Piano Assignments in the CCM Library

Students and faculty may use the electronic pianos in the CCM Library Media Lab. No appointments are necessary.
(See CCML FAQs for how to find the CCM Library).

Good-quality headphones are available for use in the CCM Library. Please ask at the CCM Library Circulation Desk to borrow a pair (headphone pad covers will be provided and must be used).

Additionally, there are 2 electronic pianos in the Piano Recording Room, off the Media Lab. On these pianos, students may record assignments or other performances. No appointments are necessary.
