Maintenance Will Impact Libraries Web News, Hours and Directory

UC Libraries will be performing routine maintenance Sunday, June 29, from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm.

The following services will be offline during maintenance:

  • Off Campus Access (proxy services)
  • Ilib.libraries.uc.edu (intranet)
  • Libapps server:
    • Library Blogs
    • UC Libraries staff directory on website
    • A-Z Database List on website

In addition to these services being unavailable, users may see an error on the website in the News, Hours and Staff Directory areas while this maintenance is being performed. All other areas of the UC Libraries website and Library Catalog will be unaffected.

Service Note: Key UC Web Services Down December 28 & 29

UC’s Data Center will be down for two days December 28 & 29 in order to receive a much-needed boost to its backup power supplies. Several major systems including “uc.edu” websites, Blackboard, and VPN access will be unavailable during this temporary outage. The UC Libraries Website, Library Catalog and access to off-campus resources via the proxy server will still be available.

For more on this outage, read the UCIT news release online.

The upgrade will begin at 6:00 p.m., Friday, September 2 and is expected to be complete by 1:00 a.m. Sunday, September 4. Notice Anything Different about the Site?

The UC Libraries website has been updated to incorporate the new UC header with links to other UC sites including “About UC,” “Admissions,” and “Health.”

In addition, we have added a powerful new search tool, Summon, to the website. From a single search box located prominently on the Articles & More tab on the homepage, Summon provides easy and fast discovery of relevant information from the UC Libraries collections on any topic. It is the place to start research in journal and newspaper articles, books, government documents, maps, music recordings, videos, digital collections, and more.
