Hungry?! Bite into an Edible Book with UC Libraries
Once again, the University of Cincinnati Libraries will celebrate the International Edible Books Festival with an event scheduled for Monday, April 1 from 12:30-1:30pm on the 5th floor lobby of Langsam Library.
At the event, nearly 20 participants will present their edible creations that represent a book in some form.
50 Minutes-1 Book Series Returns to ARB

After a hiatus for the past few months, the lunchtime talks in the Archives & Rare Books Library return with a new presentation this month. Held in 814 Blegen in the Schott Seminar Room, these casual talks are held from 12 noon to 12:50, so bring your lunch and bring a friend. On March 28, the presentation will focus on the 19th century blind Dublin street poet, Zozimus. And, the presentation will herald a new hallway exhibit in the Archives & Rare Books Library that features photographs of urban buskers from cities far and wide.
Undergraduate Discovery: Cross-Disciplinary Discussion with UC Undergraduates
In partnership with UC Libraries, the Office of Undergraduate Research, Scholarly Endeavors & Creative Practice (URSC) presents a new undergraduate student lecture series on Tuesday, March 12, 4-6 p.m., Langsam Library 4th floor (near Triceracopter). Scheduled once per semester, Undergraduate Discovery: Cross-Disciplinary Discussion with UC Undergraduates will feature recipients of the URSC Student of the Month Awards for spring 2013 semester.

On Tuesday, April 9, 2013, the University of Cincinnati Libraries will once again recognize the publishing and creative accomplishments of UC’s faculty at the annual “Authors, Editors & Composers” event. Scheduled for 3:30pm in the Russell C. Myers Alumni Center at UC, “Authors, Editors & Composers” will include a reception, presentation of selected works, a printed bibliography, and an exhibit. Spring LIFE OF THE MIND Lecture Series Kicks Off February 5
The spring Life of the Mind lecture series will kick off Tuesday, February 5 from 3:30-5pm in the Russell C. Myers Alumni Center. Life of the Mind features interdisciplinary conversations with UC faculty around a one-word theme followed by audience Q&A and a reception with light refreshments. A Grimm Exhibit
The year 2012 marks the 200th anniversary of the first publishing of Kinder und Hausmarchen (Children’s and Household Tales), a collection of German folk tales published by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm and commonly referred to as Grimms’ Fairy Tales. In celebration of this monumental book, an exhibit is currently on display on Langsam Library’s 4th and 5th floor lobbies celebrating the Brothers Grimm and their many contributions to the world of fairy tales.
