On exhibit on the 4th floor of Langsam Library, Starring the Queen City, celebrates books and films set in Cincinnati. In such books as Suzi Sinzinnati, Jazz Bird, and Beloved, and films such as Rain Man, Eight Men Out, and The Mighty, Cincinnati is either featured or plays a prominent role in the story.

Welcome New Student Orientation
UC Libraries are welcoming new students to the university with a library orientation session in Langsam Library from 9:30-10:30am, June 29 through August 12.
During this time, new students tour the library, learn about the Libraries website, how to print in the libraries, watch a short video in the STRC, and visit UCit@Langsam.
July 4th Holiday Hours
UC Libraries will be closed Sunday, July 4th and Monday, July 5th for Independence Day, except for the Health Sciences Library, which will be open on July 4th from noon-6pm, but closed July 5th.
College of Applied Science (CAS) Library Closing to Merge with Engineering Library
Effective June 11, the College of Applied Science (CAS) Library will be closed to the public so that the CAS Library collections and services can be merged with the existing Engineering Library (to be called the CEAS Library), located in Baldwin Hall.
UC Libraries Pay Tribute to UC Authors, Editors & Composers
It is a celebration of the talent of UC faculty beyond the lecture halls and research labs. Publications of faculty spanning articles, books, edited journals, musical scores, artwork, poetry, DVDs, videos and the Web were on display at the annual Authors, Editors and Composers Reception and Program.
The event, open to invited members of the UC community, was held 3:30-5 p.m., Thursday, April 22, in the Russell C. Myers Alumni Center.

Books Good Enough to Eat. Create an Edible Book for the International Edible Books Festival
For the 9th consecutive year, the University of Cincinnati Libraries will celebrate the International Edible Books Festival with an event scheduled for Thursday, April 1, 2010, from 12:30-1:30pm in the 5th floor lobby of Langsam Library. The Libraries are seeking people interested in creating an edible book for the viewing and consuming enjoyment of those in attendance at the event.
Mercantile Library in UC Library Catalog
People searching the UC Library Catalog may notice a new location on certain item records — Mercantile, which stands for the Mercantile Library.
Libraries Closed Jan. 18 for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
UC Libraries will be closed Monday, January 18 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Birthday, with the exception of the Donald C. Harrison Health Sciences Library, which will be open 9am-5pm. A full list of library hours is available online.
Explore the CCM Library in Its New Location
Explore the Albino Gorno Memorial Music (CCM) Library in its new location on the 6th floor of Blegen Library.
Accessible via the grand staircase in Blegen Library, the renovated CCM Library includes a computer and listening lab, group study and microfilm rooms, areas for study and reading, and space for the library’s collections of books, periodicals, and scores.
