Upcoming changes to OhioLINK delivery provider

books on a shelfIn order to address ongoing delivery issues with OhioLINK materials, the University of Cincinnati Libraries, along with the other college, university and public libraries in Ohio, is changing the OhioLINK delivery provider.

There are three important points that impact OhioLINK borrowing immediately:

  • Between now and March 10, users should request any needed items from OhioLINK, SearchOhio and the SWORD/SW Depository as early as possible as delays are anticipated. University of Cincinnati librarians and staff are happy to discuss research needs and help locate alternate formats or other ways to secure materials such as using Interlibrary Loan, which does not rely on this intrastate delivery service.
  • From March 11 through the end of April, users will not be able to request materials through the OhioLINK Central Catalog, SearchOhio or SWORD/SW Depository. This is necessary to avoid a backlog of materials in the system during the transition.
  • Currently checked-out materials can still be renewed and returned during this time.

Beginning April 18, we will return to working with the company that provided delivery prior to July 2021 and are confident that they will be able to deliver your library materials efficiently once again. As we transition from one company to another, however, there will be slower than usual delivery times.

We ask for patience as we implement this long-term solution.

I.D.E.A.S. at UC Clermont

I.D.E.A.S. with lightbulb

UC Clermont Library is excited to introduce a new pilot program at its library: I.D.E.A.S. or the Interdisciplinary Exchange of Art and Scholarship. We designed I.D.E.A.S. to provide college faculty an opportunity to exchange scholarly ideas, share new publications, or display new creative works. It is an opportunity for us to share our scholarly/creative thinking, receive feedback from friends, and find new collaborators.

This year we have six I.D.E.A.S. being presented across two days: February 14 and March 1. Both events will be held at 3 PM. More details about each event can be found on Campus Link.

New Library Hours at UC Clermont

Earlier in the semester, UC Clermont ran a pilot for extended hours. As promised, we did some reflection on the use and attendance of these hours. It took us a little time to prepare the staff, but we are now ready to announce longer hours for the remainder of the semester.

Beginning November 1, UC Clermont Library will remain open until 6:30 PM on Mondays through Thursdays. Friday hours will remain the same with a 5 PM close. These hours will be in place until the semester ends on November 10.

Print Periodicals Routing Available Again on UC Clermont’s Campus!

Clermont College Library is excited to announce that we are bringing back periodicals routing!

This means that when print periodicals come in, we will first circulate them through inter-office mail to those on the routing list. When everyone on the routing list is done reading the magazine and passing it on, it will be returned to the library and go onto the public shelf.

Please fill out this form to indicate which periodicals you would like routed to you, if any.

Feel free to contact our Collection Services Manager, Emily Wages (wageser@uc.edu), with any questions.
