Love Data Week 2018
“Hey Data-ful, do you come here often?”
“Why yes, yes I do, You can always find me in the repository.”
It is Love Data Week and time to show your love for your research output.
What is Love Data Week (#LDW18)?
From the Love Data Week website – http://lovedataweek.org/
Similar to Open Access Week, the purpose of the Love Data Week (LDW) event is to raise awareness and build a community to engage on topics related to research data management, sharing, preservation, reuse, and library-based research data services. We will share practical tips, resources, and stories to help researchers at any stage in their career use good data practices.
Love Data Week is a social media event coordinated by research data specialists, mostly working in academic and research libraries or data archives or centers. We believe research data are the foundation of the scholarly record and crucial for advancing our knowledge of the world around us. If you care about research data, please join us! This event is open to any institution – small, large, research intensive or not, so please feel free to share, adapt, and improve upon it. We encourage individuals, data librarians or otherwise, to participate in the campaign.

No. You are not suffering from sleep deprivation or over-study. As of Dec. 7, the Oxford Music Online interface has changed. First observation: works lists are integrated into the main article (no more “works” tab). To navigate to a works list, use the outline in the left column. It is going to take time for all of us to adjust. If there is something you are sure must be there, but you simply cannot find now, please contact one of the music librarians, and we will do our best to assist: Jenny Doctor: jenny.doctor@uc.edu or Paul Cauthen: paul.cauthen@uc.edu.

What Do Martin Luther, a Hidden Paleontologist and German-Americans Have in Common? They are All in the Latest Source.
Read Source, the online newsletter, to learn more about the news, events, people and happenings in UC Libraries.
This latest issue of Source includes an article from Xuemao Wang, dean and university librarian, about UC Libraries core beliefs and their role on how we achieve our mission “to empower discovery, stimulate learning and inspire the creation of knowledge by connecting students, faculty, researchers and scholars to dynamic data, information and resources.” Kevin Grace, university archivist and head of the Archives and Rare Books Library, writes about a hidden bust of a famous 20th-century paleontologist and philosopher. Two important gifts are announced in this issues of Source – the first, an endowment from the Marge and Charles J. Schott Foundation for the German-Americana Collection; the second, a legacy gift from Sandra and Robert Cohan to benefit musical collections in the Albino Gorno Memorial Library. Exhibits highlighting the Archives and Rare Books Library’s Shakespeare Collection, the 500th anniversary of the Reformation and a book display for Hispanic Heritage Month are also featured in this issue of Source. In addition, a collaboration between the College of Medicine and the Donald C. Harrison Health Sciences Library to create a grant program to partner medical faculty with library informationists is announced.
